Joan....I am so sorry to hear of Kitty's passing, but I am so happy to have been a huge part of her life the last two and a half years. Kitty meant so much to me and I loved her just like she was my own grandma, although as long as you had candy you were Kitty's best friend :) The ones we care for and their loved ones become a part of our lives and are just like family to us. There are no words to convey my heartfelt sympathy to you, but I want you to know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless you

Van Houven Family:
I am so sorry to hear the lost of Aunt Kathleen. I will always remember the fun times we had at the cottage on the river for the family reunions, and also always treasure the picture I have of her and Grandma Garey, at the last reunion they were together at. I know A. Kathleen is at peace now, and I send you all my deepest sympathies.

Hi Joan and Ken,
Even though we knew your mom was not in good health it was a surprise to see Kathleen Van Hoven the paper this morning. This must be a time of mixed feeling for you. You certainly were a good and faithful servant in caring for your mom and we send our sympathy to you. Regretfully, we will not be able to attend either the visitation nor the funeral. Ken is at a boat show in North Carolina and I must be in Petoskey tomorrow afternoon for some art commitments set up months ago.
We know you have an empty space in your day, but a fullness in your heart that Kitty is home at last. I would guess there are going to be some great "Grand Marais stories told!
