Harmeling, Ethel Joan
age 95, of Zeeland, Michigan and previously Homer Glen, Illinois, passed away on July 28, 2010.

She was born on May 19, 1915 in Oostburg, Wisconsin. Preceding her in death were her six brothers and a sister (Gertrude Wezeman). Ethel received a B.A.degree from Whitewater State University and the M.S. degree from Colorado State University. Her teaching career, which spanned 37 years, included appointments to the faculty of Chicago Christian High School, Northbrook High School, Oostburg High School in Wisconsin, and Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois where she was also the chairperson of the Business Education Department. After retirement in 1974 she traveled world-wide and resided in Sun City, Arizona where she was active in church and community affairs for 22 years. After returning to the Chicago area she resided in Orland Park, Illinois. Ethel was a remarkable and gifted person who loved family and friends and served others unselfishly.

A private family interment will be held on Monday, August 2 at Chapel Hills South Cemetery, Oak Lawn, Illinois. Memorials may be sent to Marley Community Church, 12625 W. 187th St., Mokena, Illinois 60448.
